The Flare
Villa På Klippan
This secluded house is perched on the edge of a cliff and offers panoramic views of the archipelago. The property presented a challenge: the basement and pool had to be excavated using explosives without causing the rock masses to collapse over the edge. The house stretches along the cliff so that the breathtaking view can be enjoyed from as many places as possible.

Concept & Construction
We designed a house that appears to be a single-story building, even though it has two floors. The basement have a gray plaster finish and the pool is cast in concrete, so they blend in with the rock they stand on. Resting on this is the upper floor, which is built from wood.
The large glass section provides an uninterrupted 17-meter glass wall facing the sea, with an additional 4 meters of glass facing the pool. We wanted these glass surfaces to meet in the corner of the house and to open there without a distracting corner post.

details, elegant and smart
This was made possible by a technically demanding load-bearing steel structure in the ceiling and by using state-of-the-art windows from Venuro. The two corner windows open electronically, and one slides into the outer wall. Venuro's elegant frame and threshold details and the smart rainwater drainage solution were also crucial in the choice of windows.
rock, air, sea & fire
The house's L-shaped layout, along with the adjacent guesthouse, creates a cozy, wind-sheltered courtyard. This is where the garden begins with its undulating and inviting landscape. The pool, however, faces the sea, secluded by a concrete wall. The proximity to the elements of nature—the rock, the air, and the sea—is striking in this location. We added the fourth element, fire, in the two fireplaces, one in the living room and one at the end of the pool.

Architecture & landscape
in fusion
The sun shading was designed as black-painted wooden slats mounted on a protruding glulam structure. Because we wanted a thin and elegant roof, we had to experiment to find a design where all the glulam beams, both load-bearing and secondary, were at the same level. Therefore, a test rig was built where the structure could be tested for strength.
With its modern, high-tech design, the unique ‘På Klippan’ combines functionality and beauty in one. The frameless sliding windows allow you to enjoy the full view and at the same time provide security thanks to innovative technology from Venuro.

Luxury can be the feeling of freedom, a safe place without stress, a place where you can rest. A landscape beautifully framed by a window is an extraordinary source of rest for the eye. Venuro sliding glass doors enable the latter in a way that surpasses most others.
